Kusudama Table Trails

I made these as part of my demonstration at the niQi Living Luxe Living the Lifestyle workshop.

Instead of forming the traditional kusudama flowerball, I decided to string individual blossoms along a length of fine wire.

These kusudama trails can be used as hanging decor or as a tablescaping element.

Wind them around vases and plates or make the lengths long enough to trail around and off the table.

You’ll find that once you’ve assembled the flower, there will be a hole in the middle of each one.

Thread your wire (you could also use silk or cotton floss or fishing gut) through the hole, wind it around the flower to nestle between two of the petals and secure with a knot.

Repeat this at desired intervals along the trail.

If you want to use the kusudama trail as a hanging decor element, consider bunching two or more blossoms at a point for a pretty effect.
