Sometimes bed rotting on TikTok is not an entirely unproductive exercise. I scrolled across a recipe for an easy sesame halva. Here it is with some additions:
- 300g tahini
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 1 cup milk powder
- 1 tablespoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup chopped roasted candied pistachio
- pinch salt
- 1 or 2 tablespoons olive oil if required
- nuts for toppingPlace all ingredients into a bowl and stir until mixture comes together. Add the olive oil only if the halva needs a bit more moisture to make the compacting easier.Line a loaf pan with grease proof paper.
Add additional chopped nuts to the bottom.
Pack in the halva.
Smooth the top and refrigerate overnight to set.
Turn out onto plate and slice to serve.The flavor in this develops with time.
